In the beginning... Founded in 1883, the Humane Steam Fire Engine Company No. 1 was originally tasked with protecting the citizens of Royersford Borough in case of fire. In 1898, the Friendship Hook, Ladder & Hose Company was formed to protect the part of Royersford that was separated from the rest of the borough by a natural land formation.
Today... Both fire companies work together to protect the borough and parts of Upper Providence Township. Our services today extend beyond fighting fires. We also respond to vehicle accidents, residential rescues, Medevac landings, ambulance assists, and other emergencies as needed.
The men and women of Humane Fire Company We come from many different backgrounds, but we all support one belief - helping others in times of need. We are 100% volunteer. We train on a regular basis so that our skills are kept sharp. Some of us fight fires, some protect those who fight fires (fire police), and others help to raise funds to keep our organization running. If you are interested in helping your community, please consider becoming a member.
