Effective
February 1st, 2011, Montgomery County Station 84 (Humane) and Station 85
(Friendship) will combine fire operations under the new designation
Station 98 (Royersford Fire Department). This is the first phase
of a five-year plan to merge both companies into one.
Cross-training has been ongoing to familiarize all firefighters with
apparatus and equipment from both companies. Although both
stations have worked together in the past, there will now be one chain
of command and one set of standard operating procedures and guidelines.
